Kestrel 3500
The Kestrel 3500 measures temperature, wind speeds, barometric phenomena, pressure trends of up to 3 hours, and more. In addition to the Kestrel 3500’s pressure trend indicator, it also has the advantage of altitude and barometric pressure measurement. With these features on hand at any time, the Kestrel 3500 becomes an ideal weather instrument for outdoor enthusiasts, sportsmen and women, and anyone else that will benefit from accurate and up to the second weather and barometric information. The Kestrel 3500’s easy to use menu system scrolls through 9 different environmental measurement conditions. It has an external temperature sensor with a waterproof casing that allows you to gauge the temperature of water, snow, and the open air.
Kestrel 3500NV
The Kestrel 3500 NV is exactly the same as the standard yellow 3500, except for two differences. The first, and most obvious difference is the color of the unit. The Kestrel 3500 NV comes in an olive green color. The second difference is the backlight color. The 3500 NV has a night-vision preserving backlight which helps users to sustain natural night vision. The NV’s backlight incorporates an optical filter to reduce overall brightness and minimize blue and green spectrum light to preserve night vision. Additionally, NV backlights are also much dimmer than a standard backlight, making it more difficult to detect with the naked eye in night operations. This backlight appears soft greyish pink, not red, and is still in the visible spectrum, so is not compatible with night-vision equipment.
Kestrel 3500 Delta-T
When spraying crops, it is critical to measure relative humidity, wind speed, and wind direction in order to minimize waste and maximize safety. Many locales regulate the maximum permitted wind speed during spraying to minimize spray drift. In hot, dry conditions, expensive chemicals may evaporate into the air rather than onto your crops. Delta-T allows you to accurately assess acceptable spraying conditions to ensure you’re within guidelines and help you select the right spray nozzle. The Kestrel 3500 DT is the difference between wet bulb and dry bulb temperatures. Its an accurate predictor of chemical evaporation rates. The Kestrel 3500 Delta T incorporates barometric pressure correction in its wet bulb temperature calculation, ensuring accuracy even on low pressure days, at high altitudes, and in very dry weather when the Kestrel Delta T pocket meter monitoring is important. The 3500 Delta-T meter does not measure Wind Chill or Heat Stress Index.
The Kestrel 3500 Pocket Weather Meter comes packed with function. With a single hand-held device you can monitor barometric pressure (trends up to 3 hours); altitude; relative humidity; heat stress index; dewpoint; wet bulb temperature; wind chill; air, water, and snow temperature; and current, average, and maximum wind speed. Engineered for performance, the 3500 is individually calibrated and features a backlit screen, patented impeller and sensor technology, quick-response external temperature sensor, and temperature-controlled humidity sensor. The rugged design features a protective cover with sure-grip overmolding, is fully waterproof and floats (IP-67), and is drop-tested to MIL-STD-810F standards. The 3500 is also made for easy maintenance – no tools are required and the impeller is user-replaceable. With the accurate environmental information it provides, first responders and emergency medical personnel can measure and track conditions relating to heat stress and exposure, and issue guidelines and warnings for field personnel. Within seconds of arriving at a scene, police, SWAT, special operations and first response personnel can gather the weather data they need quickly and accurately. Effective and safe K9 operations also require close monitoring of the wind speed, temperature and humidity conditions in the area where the dogs are working. Weather enthusiasts, researchers and academics will appreciate the 3500’s accuracy and reliability whether in a classroom, laboratory or in the field. From environmental conservation, marine and ocean research to cave research and scientific expeditions, the Kestrel 3500 makes gathering real-time data simple. Coin cell battery and lanyard included. The Kestrel 3500 is proudly designed and manufactured in the USA, and is backed by a 5-year warranty.
